Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers of Mount Pleasant 1 Year Anniversary

MOUNT PLEASANT (October 13, 2011) – Raising Cane’s of Mount Pleasant celebrates it’s one year anniversary since opening its doors on October 13, 2010. Looking back over the past year, quality chicken finger meals have been enjoyed and active community involvement has been a big part of what inspires Cane’s in placing its name in the Mount Pleasant area. Just one year ago during the grand opening, Raising Cane’s donated a percentage of sales to East Cooper “Meals on Wheels”, and also delivering the meals to those in need.

“By being so involved with “Meals on Wheels” from the start, this really helped us set the tone for the active community involvement Cane’s was founded on.” says Scott Weller, the district manager of the Raising Cane’s South Carolina franchise.

Monthly, Cane’s has donated food to “Habitat for Humanity” volunteers as they worked together in building homes for the homeless in the Mount Pleasant area. Not only over the past year has Raising Cane’s worked closely with local charities, but also has been involved with schools. The Wando School Band was at the ribbon cutting and teacher appreciation and spirit nights have been hosted at the restaurant for Wando and Laurel Hill, where money was donated back to the school for funding athletic and academic programs. Raising Cane’s has been involved as a sponsor in many golf tournaments in the area benefitting “Creative Spark”, “East Cooper Meals on Wheels”, and “Abby’s Friends.”

“Active community involvement is not only part of our vision but also a part of our DNA because we owe all of our success to our communities that support us. We work hard to be involved in as many philanthropic and community groups, programs, events and facilities as we can from a gift card for a door prize at a philanthropic event to building a dog park,” stated by Todd Graves, founder of Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers.

The Mount Pleasant Recreation Department and Cane’s have also worked closely together as a sponsor of teams each sporting season, in feeding coaches, and sponsoring events such as the Junior Regatta.

“It makes me feel good to work for a franchise that not only strives to sell food, but to be involved in a restaurant  that makes the community a better place.” says Tim Pieper, general manger of the Mount Pleasant Raising Cane’s.

Raising Cane’s has felt welcome in the community of Mount Pleasant and has appreciated the warm welcome so many have given. As Raising Cane’s celebrates it’s one year anniversary and reflects on the past year, they appreciate and acknowledge all who are a part of the community in which we serve.
